AUTOIMMUNITY
An autoimmune disease develops when your immune system gets confused and it begins to see your healthy body tissues as foreign and attacks and destroys it. One aspect of these diseases is the formation of antibodies that are directed to self-antigens (autoantibodies).
Autoimmune diseases can be divided into two general groups: Organ specific, where the autoantibodies attack a specific organ, and Non-organ specific (or systemic), where the autoantibodies attack multiple organ systems.
Attentive to your needs, BMD proposes a complete range of reagents, controls and automated systems for the diagnostic of autoimmune diseases.
Different techniques are available, adapted to your laboratory profile:
IFA
Immunofluorescence remains the reference assay for the screening of auto-antibodies: ANA (Hep2/Hep2000), DNA (Crithidiae), ANCA (Ethanol/formalin fixed slides), LKS (rat/mouse), monkey tissues.
ELISA
BMD offers a complete range of well-proven ELISA tests : standardized protocol and common reagents for a simple and effective automation. See e.g. AESKULISA
CHORUS™
Chorus™ system is a compact multi-parametric analyzer dedicated to the performance of ELISA assay in single test device containing all the reagents necessary to perform the assay: no hidden costs or waste of reagents. See instrumentation Chorus for more details.
IMMUNOBLOT
For simultaneous detection of antibodies against several antigens fixed on a strip. Suitable for screening of autoimmune diseases as well as for cost-effective differential diagnosis on a case by case basis. See e.g. AESKUBLOT
